It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin D. Matthews, who left us peacefully on March 27, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on June 20, 1953, in Maryland. Martin was known for his hard work, dependability, and kind spirit. He had a deep love for the outdoors, often found camping or paddling in his kayak, immersing himself in nature's beauty.
Martin was a devoted husband to his wife, Rhonda Matthews, and a proud father to his daughter, Leah Lewis (husband Shun). He cherished his family and was a great provider. He also shared a deep faith in God that guided him throughout his life.
In his younger years, Martin played the clarinet and saxophone, showcasing his love for music. He was also an avid sports fan, with a particular passion for football and the Baltimore Ravens.
Martin's life will be celebrated with a public viewing at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Monday March 31, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home the following day on Tuesday April 1 at 10:00 am. Graveside service at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
He will be deeply missed but will always be remembered for his gentle soul and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Rest in peace.
