Martin Romano Obituary
AGE: 88 • Toms River
Martin Allen Romano, 88, of Toms River passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Arbors Care Center in Toms River. Born in Newark, NJ he resided in Iselin, NJ prior to moving to Toms River in 1987. Marty served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 110th Mountain Signal Company obtaining the rank of Private First Class. He worked for AT&T in Union, NJ for many years and is a Retired Member of the AT&T Pioneers and VFW Post 9503 of Bayville, NJ. Marty was called by many friends "The Walker" and was an avid Yankee fan.
He was predeceased by his siblings, James, Raymond, Philip, Alice Comito and Jean Ricci. Surviving are his loving wife of 33 years, Janet Renczkowski-Romano; 4 step-children, Suzanne Axen, Russell Renczkowski Sr., Mary Hamilton and Karen Renczkowski; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelly, Manuel, Nicholas and William IV; sisters, Helen and husband Jim Dowling and Filomena Jeklinski; sister-in-law, Margaret Romano and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9th, 2014 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Funeral Service will be offered on Thursday, April 10th, 2014 at 10am at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
