R.I.P Martina. She was an inspiration and will truly be missed. America got to know her through her devout support of her brother Troy. She never gave up and for that I will always admire her. She showed strength and character in the face of adversity. She continued to fight when others gave up. She was the epitomy of what it takes to be an African American woman in the USA today.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting martina a few years ago when I was coordinating a death penalty program for Amensty International USA. While I always detested the death penalty, Martina's passion for the work against it was so compelling and so inspiring I knew it would become part of my life's mission to support the cause. Her dedication to her brother Troy's case could not be ignored. She was purposeful in her words, her actions and her leadership. While I am saddened for her...

Martina crossed paths with many as she traveled along this way. Our paths crossed years ago at Candler Hospital, later at Bartow, Mercer, and Johnson schools where our sons attended.
She impacted the lives of so many young and old, far and near. Martina would leave you with something that would help to make a difference in your life.
