ASNES, Marvin "Marv" Of Sharon, formerly of Braintree, passed away on January 1, 2022 at the age of 85. Beloved Husband of 60 years and best friend of the late Marjorie Asnes. Loving father to David, Peter and Mark and Dad to daughters-in-law Nancy, Sheryl and Kathleen. Devoted Zayda to his grandchildren Rachel, Jordan, Max, Andrew and Lauren. Special brother to Stephen and Sister-in-law Linda. Survived by his nieces and nephew. Marv finally lost his long battle to illness and disease. These last couple of years he fought so hard and showed tremendous strength and courage right up until the end where he was surrounded by his family. Marv met his childhood sweetheart when they were 12 years old. Eventually marrying and moving to Braintree. Living there 42 years, he was an active member of Temple B'nai Shalom serving on the Hebrew and Ritual Committees in addition to being President for several years. Marv served on the Braintree Park Commission for 10 years and was a member of the Golf Course Advisory Committee. Marv and Margie moved to Sharon in 2004 and continued their wonderful life together. They joined Temple Israel where Marv served on a number of committees and on the temple board. He was a member of the Sharon Men's Club and continued his love of golf, playing weekly with "the boys". They also joined Ahavath Torah Congregation in Stoughton where he served on the Board of Directors. He had tremendous joy from all his grandchildren and loved being "Zayda" more than anything. He would often be seen at the kid's games or teaching them about life and the importance of family. A funeral will take place on Monday, January 3 at 12:45 pm at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street in Canton. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. There will be a shiva at the home of Marv from Monday to Friday. Donations in Marv's memory can be made to Temple Israel (Chesed Fund), Ahavath Torah Congregation (Levy Fund) or Dana Farber Cancer Institute (Lung Cancer Research). www.stanetskycanton.com

Five years ago we moved in and were lucky enough to get your mom and dad as next door neighbors. A wonderful connection was made from the beginning..sadly your mom passed within the first year, but will be remembered fondly.
