Marvin ENGELBRECHT Obituary
Marvin William
Marvin William Engelbrecht died on Monday, January 11, 2016, in Austin, at age 96. Bill was born January 23, 1919, in Houston to Rosa and William Engelbrecht.
Bill enlisted in the Navy in November, 1941. After the war, Bill enrolled in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Texas. He met Jane Fremon from St. Louis; they married in 1948 in Houston.
In 1958, Bill opened the Apothecary Shop. He retired in 1987.
Bill was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church.
Bill is survived by wife Jane, son John and daughter-in-law Margaret, son James, grandson Joe Engel and his wife Stephanie, granddaughter Janell Thompson and her husband Cory, great-granddaughters Jessie and Reese Thompson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Buckner Villas for their care.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel, 3125 N. Lamar, conducted by Rev. Dan Gardner.

I remember going to his shop since I was a little girl. He was always so friendly and caring. I went to school with James. I hope you are doing well James. My parents, John and Alice Marshall, lived next door to the Engelbrechts for many, many years. They were good friends. They always admired the intelligence both Bill and Jane exhibited. When my Dad was very elderly, they would often check on him for me, as I live on the other side of town. They were wonderful friends and neighbors and he will be missed.
