January 7, 1933 - August 1, 2025
Charlotte, North Carolina - Gene Morrison passed away on August 1, 2025. A Harding High graduate, he co-led Interstate Electric Co., the family business founded in 1932 and still thriving today.
A lifelong Shriner and Mason, Gene's leadership left a lasting mark. He served as Potentate of Oasis Shrine (1986), President of the South Atlantic Shrine Association (2000), and Chair of the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
He married his high school sweetheart, Gerrie, in 1954; they shared 48 devoted years until her passing in 2002. In 2008, he married Norma Robinson, with whom he found renewed love, joy, and companionship.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; children Geanie (Butch) Robertson and Dr. Greg (Pam) Morrison; grandchildren Ashley Robertson, Alex (Lindsey) Morrison, and Nick Morrison; six great-grandchildren; extended family; Norma's children Billy Robinson, Angela (Rick) McCoy, and grandchildren Steven Freinstein, Cassidy (Adrian) Glass, and Eli McCoywhom he embraced as his own.
Services by McEwen Funeral at Sharon Memorial Park. Celebration of Life The Oasis Aug 17th 3-5 p.m.
