Not sure what to say?

She was a kind, loving person and a wonderful Mom to her Sons. Her memory will live on for always.
My heart and prayers to Steven and Family.

Mary Ellen was always so kind and thoughtful. She was my father's cousin. When I named my daughter Faith Carolyn in honor of Mary Carolyn Jones, Mary Ellen sent me some of Mary Carolyn's things to give to my daughter. We kept in touch through annual Christmas cards and I discovered her obituary when I was going through my address list. I will miss her updates. I will always remember her fondly.

To the entire Hornsby Family:

We were saddened to learn of Mary Ellen's passing. We always looked forward to her warm, friendly greetings when seeing her at the Chesapeake during visits my Dad. As you may have heard, he too passed this year.

With Dad, Swanson and Mary Ellen all now gone, it is very sad to see an era depart of really fine folks. My how the world has changed. We need more people like them!

Our condolences go out to you all.

So sorry to hear of your Moms passing, I only met her a couple of times.
I knew your Dad they were both such great people. Thoughts and prayers for your family.

Your Mom and Dad were both very gracious people. Your mother was the epitome of a Mother and Grandmother, always caring for other people and always a kind word. She will be missed but I know she is in heaven.

John and I are so very saddened by Mary Ellen's passing, and had hoped for more time with her. But to have spent even a little time with her was a joy, and greatly healing. We loved her instantly! May your hearts be calmed by her legacy and the sure knowledge of where she is.

Sorry to learn of your loss. But your Mom is with your Dad and the Lord !!

What a wonderful woman and mother. She was also so inviting and so many memories on the river and Hidenwood and Menchville High that she supported !!
