Mary Lyman Obituary

LYMAN, Mary Leahy Mary Leahy Lyman, 84, of Old Saybrook, passed away on Wednesday, (November 28, 2007) at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was born on August 25, 1923, in Hartford to the late Daniel Francis and Helen (Carey) Leahy. She was married to the late George Lyman, part owner of MAFCO Electric in Hartford, who passed away in 1993. She was born and raised in the Parkville section of Hartford and graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1942. She worked as the Assistant Town Clerk, and Clerk of Probate Court in Farmington for many years. She also worked as a legal secretary for The Law Offices of Kenyon, Bonee and Greenspan. She is survived by four children: Maryellen Lyman of Wethersfield, George J. Lyman of West Hartford, Daniel Francis Lyman of Germantown, MD and Terence Collins-Lyman of Salem, NH. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Eoin, and Bridget Collins-Lyman as well as Emily Lyman; and a brother Joseph Leahy of Laguna Hills, CA. She is predeceased by two brothers: Daniel Francis Leahy, and Jack Leahy. Family and friends may visit Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, TODAY from 5-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 1, at 1 p.m. at St. John Church in Old Saybrook. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's honor to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or to St. John's Catholic School, 42 Maynard Road, Old Saybrook, CT 06475.

I'm sorry to learn of the loss of your mother. I remember her mostly from childhood when you and your family lived in the Highlands before moving over to Wolf Pit Rd.. My condolences to everyone.
