Mary MOORE Obituary

POQUOSON - Mary T. Moore, 93, passed away with family by her side Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Wake Med Hospital. She was a native and resident of Poquoson for 87 years, and a current resident of Wake Forest, N.C., for the last six years.
"Miss Mary" was a homemaker and an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church before moving with family to North Carolina. She served in many areas at church to include being a member of the Ladies Bible Class and the Agnes Carmines Circle. She was a charter member and past president of the Poquoson Women's Club. She will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and life; Miss Mary will be greatly missed by all.
Miss Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel P. Moore Sr.; parents, William C. "Bookie" and Bessie B. Topping; and a son-in-law, Jerry A. Stone.
She is survived by a son, Samuel P. Moore Jr. (Betsy), of Yorktown; a daughter, Bessie M. Stone, of Wake Forest, N.C.; grandchildren, Kelli M. Hanson (Pete), of Beloit, Wis., Shana S. Perry (Ryan), of Raleigh, N.C., Stacey T. Stone (Jesse Buchanan), of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and T. Parker Stone (fiancEe, Lauren Potter), also of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Sarah A. Hanson, Jessica L. Hanson, Mary E. Hanson, Jeron R. Perry, and Ryleigh S. Perry; and many extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and other times at the home of Jack and Chrisie Stone, 42 Bunting Lane, Poquoson. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. Milford C. Rollins. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1294 Poquoson Ave., or the Poquoson Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 2404, both in Poquoson, VA 23662. Online condolences to www.claytorrollins.com.

Mr. Sam.... I was so sorry to here of your mothers passing. I have amazing memories of the years I spent with your family when Kelli and I were in High School.
