Mary Reed Obituary
97, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017.
She was born October 14, 1919, in Louisville, the daughter of Ferdinand and Catherine (Wissing) Kruse. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip Reed; sons, Tom, Doug and John Reed; sister, Barbara and a brother, Charles.
Mary was a member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church and had worked as a Secretary at the Kentucky Real Estate Commission for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Wheeler (Stan) and Cathy Fussenegger (Paul); three sons, Robert (Joyce), David (Liz), Carey (Ruth Ann); 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Kruse; and 2 sisters, Joan Lawson and Jesse Ross.
A mass to celebrate Mary's life will be conducted at 9:30 AM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 S. Sixth St. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Thursday at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd.
In lieu of customary expressions, donations may be given to St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church Renovation Fund, 1104 S. 6th St. Louisville, KY 40203

My heart is heavy as we mourn the loss of one of the nicest people i've ever known. Mrs. Reed was like a 2nd mother to me and she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched, and i know there were many. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Reed family. She was truly a special person, sent from God to remind us all how to live a life of quiet dignity and grace.
