My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I fondly remember babysitting the Skagen girls and living next to them in Skyway. Mary was always in the mix with her little sisters.

Mary was called home far too early. We never know the reason why we are called but we do know, trust, and find comfort in knowing Jesus knows what he is doing. I saw Mary a couple of weeks ago and with that special smile she said "what can we do?" and "can you believe all of this!" She always was happy to see you and always had a smile:) My heart cries for the special family at this difficult time until they see Mary again in heaven. Many thoughts and prayers to all of you!

To the entire Skagen family, from my stepmom Shirley Ruth down to Joni-and beyond, to the newest unborn addition:
I learned a little more about every one of you today...
Remarkable.
It's funny how so much joy can come from so much heartache. I sincerly enjoyed all of you today and what you had to say about your family.
-proud to call you my "step" family
The sky lit up so bright with the most spectacular sunset when God took you with him up to heaven.

I miss hearing your voice every morning, with your infectious laugh and your crack me up smile.I miss reading your misspelled texts, which we called Mary code.We were more than best friends, we were sisters in our hearts. Thank you for being there when I needed you the most. We've had so many, many good times over the last 43 years. The sky lit up so bright with the most spectacular sunset when God took you with him up to heaven. I will never forget you Mar, there will always be an unfillable hole in my heart without you here. I'll be seeing you down the road my friend...
Love you always, Forever Friends xoxoxoxo

To Mary's Family:
Thoughts & prayers are with you, And may your happy memories of Mary bring help & comfort too.
I will always cherish the Fridays that I spent with Mary over the past months.
I learned & grew from Mary as her fight went on. She was so strong and such a positive force. May I live out my life as well & as full as she did.
God Bless & Friends Forever.

What I remember about Mary the most is that she had a smile that could light up a room. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. And even though I don't see the Skagen family very often, they still mean the world to me.

'"Everything will be okay" is what you said throughout this journey. I have to believe you knew what you meant and I know now that you are with Dad and Brad and you are "ok" The gifts of the simple things in life you gave to all of us. I promise to live each day for you because I can. Your strength and courage was amazing and you had the Skagen "fight" in you. I love you sister and you know I won't say goodbye just see ya later!!! xoxoxoxxo

I'm sitting here waiting for your call..."Hi Brother, are you watching the game?" What am I going to do without you, Meg Realty? Give Dad and Brad a bear hug for me. You are an inspiration to me and I'll miss you so much.

Dear Skagen family,
We are sending our thoughts and sympathy to you all. I imagine you together, finding strength in your memories and the love of being together. Growing up, I always enjoyed that positive force from the Skagen family.
That smile on Mary's face is the same one that I remember so well from our childhood. She always had the sweetest smile and personality. Take care everyone.

Mary, the last words you heard were "Don't worry, we will all be together someday. Dad and Brad are waiting for you. You can go now. Love you forever."
You joined them within in a minute of hearing those words. No doubt Dad and Brad are embracing you along with the other angels.

I was so very sad to hear of Mary's passing. Thinking about her with a smile has brought back so many very special memories of our time growing up together at Lakeridge Swim Club. Where do the years go - it only seems like yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and always.

The last 4+ months have been such a gift to me that not enough words can do justice. I was never very close to Mary growing up but over the past year I got to see my oldest sister as a strong, loving, and grateful person. She loved everyone and she would do anything for anyone. I will never forget you Mary Colleen, you have made my life whole with your unbelievable will and courage in fighting your disease. Remember what I told you, when I come knocking, you better open the doors with arms wide open!! Love you, Greg
