Mat was my art history professor at Mary Washington College. His love of teaching and enthusiasm was most influencial in my majoring in art history - a decision I never regretted. The loss of this man must be devastating. Please know you are in my heart and prayers.

Dear Tricia and Joe,
I just learned of Matt's passing and want to extend my deepest condolences. I worked with Matt for 13 years at OSU and looked forward to his good humor and bright smile every day. We had some great talks about art and I will always remember his vibrant crayon drawings. He was one of the truly good guys.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Herban's passing. I too studied with him at Mary Washington - Class of 1974. I was also fortunate enough to tour Europe with you December 1972. It was an incredible trip - I have never forgotten it or you, Mrs. Herban, and of course Dr. Herban, the wonders of the cathedrals in France and Germany brought to life!!! Please send email address and phone number so I contqact you. Had been tyrying to contact you.

Tricia, so send our deepest sympathy. Mat was a wonderful man who was so talented in so many ways but never let that dampen his humor! I loved working with him in the ICA of Annapolis.

Tricia - How tragic for you and your family. We've missed you and Mat in Annapolis, I have such fond memories of both of you. Perhaps you'll find your way back here someday. You are in my prayers.
