He was our class valedictorian. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out it was him who would speak to us. I remember the more serious side of him. may he rest in peace. You have an angel with you always.

Brendan and family, our sincere sympathies to you and your family - we remember the great days of Lake Villa, staying out until the street lights came on! You are all in our thoughts and prayers - contact me if you want to: [email protected]

"To-day the road all runners come,
Shoulder high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town"

To the Bartley Family:

Although I hadn't seen Matt in many years, I have often thought of him. I have many fond memories of growing up with him, going through twelve years of school with him, hanging out with him. He was a very special person to me all those years ago, and I never forgot him.

My deepest sympathies to all of you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I am so so sorry to hear about Matt's passing. I knew him during his Paul VI days, and got to know him more through our mutual friend, Ken Kaleta.
Everytime I think of him I think, "Brilliant". And he was.
God help his family through this.

I was very saddened to hear of Matt's passing. I will keep everyone in my prayers.

I was taken aback and so saddened to learn of your loss. Matt and the Bartley family were a big part of childhood memories from Lake Villa. May you find comfort in knowing that many prayers are with you during this difficult time.
