Not sure what to say?

I just got back from a charity marathon which benefitted cancer research. In honor of Matt, I put his name on my jersey and completed a 26.2 mile run saturday. God Bless your family.

I knew Matt for only 2 short years, while I was on the USS Georgia. There was never a dull moment around him. There was always a smile, always a joke, and always a good attitude. Time underway didn't seem quite as long with him around. I'll miss you brother.

I didnt know mat long but he was always friendly in the chow line. and a cook never forgets the friendly guy when it comes to chow.

I had the extreme pleasure of working with Matt during my tour on the USS GEORGIA. Not only was your son involved with operations in the nuclear power plant, but he also volunteered to handle weapons for me in the Torpedo Room. He was one of the best weapons handling members I had on my team! I am truely sorry to hear of his passing. My condolence to your family, I will always remember his professionalism along with his smile and great sense of humor.

Please accept our deepest sympathies.

I met Matt through my husband. All of us were roommates untill my daughter was a bout a year old. Matt always made laugh. He had nothing but a kind and giving heart. He was always talking about his family and some of the wonderful memories he had. Matt taught me an awesome recipe for a cheesecake, which I dont know how he had the patience to make it, since it took forever. That was Matt though Kind, giving and patient. He spent holidays and birthdays with us, he saw my daughter in the...

I am Chief Pete. I served with Matt on the USS Georgia. I was not just his boss but a friend. Many a midwatch did he keep us awake telling stories, jokes, or just being himself. He was always happy and jolly, you had to try to get him upset. He has many friends in the Navy who will miss him greatly. He had no enemies. He was an excellent technician, administrator, and operator. Most of all he was just a great...
