Not sure what to say?

Probably the most personal and moving obituary I've ever read. My condolences to Matt's wife, his beautiful family, his friends and coworkers. I was born in Rotterdam and wish I knew you. You were full of life, treasured your family, and lived to travel and called the beach your home. As I'm blessed to live and blessed to live with the beach just walking distance from me, I'll visit you when my feet hit the sand. I'll pray for your wife and children and family too. Your messages were clear...

Courtney, So sorry for the difficult and painful journey you all had to entail. My heart breaks for you and your daughters. Matt's obituary was beautiful and something you can cherish for times to come. Praying for you all and here if you need a friend.

I didn't know this man or his family, but I read the obituary that was written by him and thought this was absolutely beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes. I thought how lucky they are to be able to read his words over and over and know how much they were loved by him. To his wife: I've been where you are. It's okay to have bad days and it's okay to have good days. Take care of yourself. Sending prayers and hugs.

I did not know this man or his family. I read the obituary and thought how lucky they are to be able to read his words over and over and know how much they were loved by him. What a courageous act to make sure that people knew how he felt. My condolences to all. I'm sure that was not easy to write, but what a beautiful tribute to his family. May he rest in peace.

I too did not know Matt, but his self written obituary has brought me to tears. The love he had for his family and friends are within his words. Keep your memories close. To his wife: I've been where you are. It's okay to have bad days and its even ok to have good days. Just take care of yourself. Sending many prayers and hugs.

He sounds like he was quite the guy. Did not know him but writing his own obit I pray gives his wife and daughters some peace. God speed sir. You ran the good race and left the world a better place with your daughters. Your wife's got this. But you knew that
