Not sure what to say?

I have many fond memories of ND in the 80s, and the Mooch as he was affectionately known was part of them. I worked with him as an RA for a year, and at one of our meetings i cooked and Indian meal. He insisted on having a go at some chilli pickle "neat" , on account of his Italian heritage. He turned an impressive shade of crimson , and as beads of sweat condensed on his ample forehead, we feared we were going to lose him. So , I am glad to hear that he had a full life, and contributed to...

I have many fond memories of Notre Dame, Cavanaugh Hall and Fr Miceli is central to a lot of them. I remember as an RA working with him, I cooked an Indian meal and he insisted on trying the chilli pickle "neat" on account of his Italian heritage. well he turned an impressive shade of crimson, and we thought he had done himself permanent damage! so I'm glad to hear he had a full life and contributed to the ND community for several decades After my time. we were blessed to know a...

He spread joy where ever he went. My years at ND would not have been the same without him.

Discussing politics, smoking pipes together, playing dominoes, listening to great stories. Father, you will always be part of my fondest memories at Notre Dame and I will always recall your hearty laugh when I reflect on those wonderful years. May God rest your soul.

It was a great pleasure and huge honor to have had such a loyal friend and known such a person. My time with Fr. Miceli did not end after my stay at Cavanaugh- 1982, there it just began. My whole family had the privilege and fun to accompany him over the years and get to know, love and respect each other very well.
We will miss Fr. Miceli a lot, also for his sense of humor, and will always have an important place in our hearts.

I enjoyed trying his "grappa" years ago. He was a great introduction to ND life for an outsider marrying into the "family". His funeral was on the anniversary of the wedding he was to help celebrate, had he not been in Italy. He is missed.

Father Miceli played a large role in my life. He baptized me as well as two of the three siblings that followed me. I remember seeing him at the nursing home in late September, early October, with my grandmother as well as the two siblings that had also been baptized. I smiled at seeing him. He was always delighted at what we brought him and was very generous and friendly to my family. He will be fondly remembered in my mind. God bless him and may he rest in peace.

In my senior year,I worked for Father Miceli as a Resident Assistant in Cavanaugh Hall. Late of a Sunday evening, at the end of the weekly staff meeting, a fellow R.A., Neil Gordon, and I would linger and visit with Father over a glass of his home made wine. Those nights and those conversations remain with me today. I am grateful I had the chance to know this fine man who touched so many lives. Rest in peace, Father Miceli.

Rich Henke (Cavanaugh Hall 1979-83)

Wow. Father Miceli. Sad news. But also happy news, to find out more about his history, and what he has done. He was a giant that played a prominent role in a ton of lives. I personally battled him, but it was always fun, we enjoyed be adversaries, but also he was older and wiser and knew exactly what he was doing, how to manage the relationships. I didn't know that then but I came to realize it through time. His passing marks the end of an era, and also prescient, growing years for a...
