Sending loving thoughts to Aunt Louise; cousins Hendie, May Claire, dearest Brigid; and the extended family. Reading Mackey's obit reminds me of the importance of living a fuller life. He touched many with his good humor, leadership, and kind heart.

Mackey was a very dear friend to all the Irish who invade Augusta for the Masters. Anne Marie and I will miss him very much as he was very much a father figure to us on our annual visits. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and I especially will miss our annual visits to the Mulherin graves dowsntown Augusta. We send all our sympathy to Louise,Bridget and all the family. May Mackey rest in peace.

the 16th hole has and never will be the same. mackey defined the term distinguished composure as he spoke above an intoxicated crowd, maintaining augusta national decorum year after year. today's master's patrons haven't had the pleasure of mackey announcing and introducing the golfers as they approached the 16th green. in a bygone era, mackey was as much a part of the 16th as chi chi walking up the wrong side of the pond to the green. i hope the national will recognize mackey in some form....
