Dear Kathy, we have never met but your husband was my best friend throughout high school at Schurz and beyond for many years until we lost touch. Our mutual pal, Keith Galle, called to tell me of his death. I am so sorry for your loss. Tubby, Tobar, Humey, were some of his nicknames, was like family at my house. He and I went to senior prom together at Schurz. I so wish I could have caught up with him these past years. It looks like he made a wonderful, loving family with you and yours. He and I had such good times together. I loved it when he would sit down at the piano with a cigarette between his teeth and a smile on his face. His smile will always remain with me. I have pictures of him that I'd like to send you if I can. My email is [email protected]. They are prints. May you be comforted by good memories of him in the days ahead.

Kathy, we know up close your love and devotion to Matt. Although we never met Matt, Elliott talked on the phone with him and came to know his humor and courage. Kathy, we love you and value your presence in our lives. You are what we call "a mensch," which means the finest human being possible. Please know that you have our deepest sympathy. Love, Nina and Elliott Goldstein
