Dr. Maria Suarez of Holy Family University wrote the following about Matt Trainor. It appeared in the February 2005 issue of "The Tri-Lite", the student newspaper at Holy Family University. It is in memorium to him:
"It should not happen this way. Children should not go before their parents. Students should not go before their teachers. Sometimes it is hard to understand God's plan.

Ric & Kathi: I cannot say how deeply the news of Matt's passing has saddened us. I have known you for so long. There is something we say in memory of those who are gone:
"To the departed whom we now remember, may peace and bliss be granted in life eternal. May they find grace and mercy before the Lord of heaven and earth. May their souls rejoice in that effable good which God has laid up for those who honor Him, and may their memory be a blessing to those who treasure it."

Dear Ric and Family,
I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the entire family. I didn't know Matthew. I don't even know most of the family. I worked with Ric for a couple of years and didn't even begin to become friendly with him until the day that I left that job. I remember that in that conversation he spoke about his family including Matthew. I remember being impressed with the genuine love that was apparent as he spoke.
I know that your pain is very real as you...

Matt,
I only knew you for a short time, but in that short time you touched my life without even knowing it, you were such an optimistic person, with such a big heart and an even bigger smile! I still see that smile and sense of humor of yours when I think of you. Keep watching over your family and friends, and keep smiling.
*See you in my dreams*
