Jim & Family, I'm so sorry to hear about your father's passing. How wonderful that you named your son in his honor. I hope that your love for your son reminds you how much your father loved you and brings you comfort.

Our deepest sympathy to Max's family. Max was such a good friend throughout our school years and so active in helping the class of '56 in all that we did. He will be missed so much.

The Eldred Family, Max and I shared many a good time at field trials. I always had a great deal of respect for him and enjoyed his company as well as the competition. I learned of this tragic event at the AFTCA meeting this past weekend in Chicago. The group was certainly saddened by this unfortunate news. My most sincere sympathy during this trying time. Max will be greatly missed by all field trialers, hunters, and friends. He was an honest, fair, and tough competitor that made the outdoor life more enjoyable for all of us. We all knew we had to improve to compete with Max. His contributions to all field trials will never be forgotten.

Polly & Entire Family: I want you to know how sad I am about Max's passing. I've known him since childhood & I will never forget his easy going, shy character.
