It is great to read all of the wonderful things people have written about Max. We love Max very much and we appreciate all the things he taught us in his life and in his death. He truly loved all of his family and friends and we will miss him very much.

I'd just like to let the Shumway family know what a pleasure it was growing up with them as next door neighbors, and how sorry I am for your loss.

I knew Max in high school back when he had braces and played saxaphone in the high school band. My twin brother Kirk and I played trombone and we had some great times with Max. He and Jeff Jarrard were inseparable. Max was my big brother and I loved him very much. He had such a tender and loving heart. He was never afraid to say "I love you". I love him so much and will miss him greatly. He always made me feel like what happened in my life was important to him. I am expecting my first child in December, and Max was so excited for me.
