Maxine Gold was in the United States the highest authority on reading comprehension, she was fluent in ancient Hebrew, English, French and Spanish.

I only just read of Maxine's passing.
She was a fine, fiery woman and a good friend; though distance separated us for many years, I always carried her in my heart-and shall continue to.
