MAXWELL M. BAKER

MAXWELL M. BAKER, 83, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Maxwell managed the truck garage and was head mechanic with General Electric for 31 years, retiring in 1996. He was a founding member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and served on the Vicars' committee. Maxwell was a musician, playing several instruments, and he loved to sing, performing with the Tokhiem Glee Club. He loved to fish at his Holiday Lake home where he and Virginia loved to entertain family and friends. Surviving are his daughter, Penelope (Gary) Keister of Columbia City; son, David (Craig Seekamp) Baker of St. Louis, Mo.; and daughter, Lisa (Bob) Ross of Sturgis, Mich.; brothers, Harvey Baker and Samuel Baker, both of Payson, Ariz.; and brother, John Baker of Fort Wayne; sister, Roberta Foust of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Maxwell was preceded in death by wife, Virginia L. Baker; father, Robert O. Baker; mother, Mary E. Baker; daughter, Valerie Baker; brother, Philip Baker; and sister, Catherine Sorrell. Service is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling from 3 to 5 p.m. Chaplain Karen Kosberg officiating.
