Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK with Dr. B. Gordon Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK. She will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2007, at Baggerley Funeral Home. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born on June 11, 1919 in Supply, OK to Percy B. Zerby and Ora (Million) Zerby. She married Albert E. Dorr on June 1, 1940 in Stillwater, OK. He preceded her in death in 1995. Her grandparents owned the Bank of Supply, which was first located in Supply, OK before it moved to Woodward, OK in 1930. After the bank failed in 1931, the family moved to Lone Wolf, OK. She graduated from Lone Wolf High School in 1937. The family later moved to Perry, OK when her father obtained a job with the Oklahoma State Highway Department, a position he would hold for the next 20 years. She began pursuing her college degree at Oklahoma A&M College in nearby Stillwater. She met her future husband at a fraternity dance in December of 1938 and they were married a year and a half later. While they finished college, the couple lived with Albert's mother, who owned a boarding house in Stillwater. Her education was interrupted by the birth of the first of her five sons, Edward Max Dorr. She went on to finish her degree in Art while Albert was serving in the Pacific with the U. S. Navy during 1944-45. The couple had four more sons, Dana Michael Dorr, Patrick B. Dorr, Jon Real Dorr, and Kent Anthony Dorr. They raised them in Oklahoma City, OK where Albert founded and ran a successful air conditioning business, Comfort, Inc., for over 35 years. She was known to her family as 'Mommio,' and she dedicated herself to raising her boys. She served as a PTA representative and den mother, hosted dozens of birthday parties, and helped at her church and in her community. She did all of these things while caring for her elderly mother, father, and mother-in-law. She had boundless energy and would often be heard ironing clothes at 3:00 a.m. After her sons were grown, she became very involved in various Christian ministries, both local and around the world. She made several trips with Nora Lam ministries to bring the gospel to Mainland China. In her later years, she spent much of her time caring for Albert, who suffered from emphysema. In 1990, her sons hosted a wonderful 50th anniversary party for the couple that was enjoyed by a multitude of family members and old family friends. She lived one of the fullest, most giving lives that can be lived. If you had to select one word to describe this wonderful person and mother, it would probably be 'giving'. Up until weeks before her death, if you would sit down to assist her with her meal, she would ask you if you had eaten. She always took care of others first-she was a selfless lady. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Don Perry and Sam Perry. She is survived by five sons, Edward Max Dorr and his wife Marjorie, of Ft. Worth, TX, Dana Michael Dorr and his wife Elsie of Oklahoma City, OK, Patrick B. Dorr and his wife Katherine of Stillwater, OK, Jon Real Dorr of Edmond, OK, and Kent Anthony Dorr and his wife Karen of Edmond, OK; 13 grandchildren, Christopher Dorr and his wife Brie of Cambridge, MA, Timothy Dorr and his wife Jennifer of Little Elm, TX, Megan Baggett and her husband Joel of Tulsa, OK, Dustin Dorr and his wife Sarah of Laguna Beach, CA, Diane McNichols and her husband Brian of Ft.
