Not sure what to say?

Melinda was a great childhood friend that I lived on the South Hill of Spokane a few blocks away from. We went to grade school together, hung out as younger adults and even went to eachother's proms. I always cared about Melinda deeply. I am writing this late but have no less carried her strongly in my mind with loving memories. She was always sprite, hopeful, encouraging, and fun to be with. I have and will miss her deeply. She will always be a part of my life. My thoughts go out to her...

Melinda rode my school bus and I always enjoyed talking to her and her sister. What a special lady.

We'll chat later my friend. Blessings for family and friends. You are missed.

I am a recipient of Mel's genuine and selfless commitment to helping veterans. I met her through the Spokane County VET Court and will always be grateful for her support. I extend my prayers to her family.

Hiring board to parking lot chat, you radiated respect, caring and cheer. Thankyou for making WA ANG better for all you touched.

Our sincere condolences to Melinda's family. She always had a smile for everyone when we were in high school.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Mel was such a positive inspiration to me. I am honored to have volunteered with her. Our last retreat together will be one I will never forget. She taught me so much that weekend. May her family find strength and love from all the prayers being sent their way. God Bless.

The Washington State Veterans Cemetery extends our deepest sympathies to the family of Melinda L. Hirst for your loss. We honor her for the service and sacrifice she has made for our nation, she is a true hero.

We've known Melinda her entire Air National Guard Career. She is a true patriot and friend and we will miss her dearly and our prays are with her and Mike and her family. We are currently in Alaska and won't be able to attend the memorial but we will certainly be thinking of her.
