Melinda Carol Kohn - who died on Monday, February 21, 2022, in Allentown at the age of 74 - loved three things: her family, her friends, and butter. Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in Penns Grove, NJ, where she worked the cash register at her father's store. Her gift with numbers and...

Not sure what to say?

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Sally, this obit was a delight to read-I´m sure mom would have loved it. I can assure you that you were a delight to your mom every year of your life. (And I do realize this was satire. My husband, John, didn´t though...) We were there very soon after your birth and witnessed the delight of your parents for the first third of your life. Your parents´ eyes never failed to light up when talking about you. Sadly, in later years, we lost touch. My friendship began with your dad at work, and...

So sorry Don and family. Melinda was a warm, wonderful person. I will treasure the times we spent together. I will miss her laugh.

Kohn family: I was saddened to read about the passing of your wife, mother, and grandmother. I met Melinda when I joined her staff at Bell Laboratories. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Melinda was always so easy to talk to because she seemed interested in so many subjects. She listened to whatever was on your mind and could converse about just about anything. She was kind and thoughtful. Every Christmas, she would always remember us in her gift giving. It was so unnecessary but it was so nice that she thought of us, every year even as we got older and older! I remember one year she made us hats and scarves. So personal! I am so sorry for your loss. She will be...

During my HS years Melinda and I were neighbors at Layton´s Lake. We lived 5 mi. from town and rode the school bus together to Penns Grove HS. She was my bridge and pinochle partner in our summer card games with Andy and Jerry. Looking back, I can see the seeds planted then that bloomed in her adult life. Her parents, Jerry and Pearl, were wonderful people. Melinda was always self assured and knew what she was about. Her senior yearbook entry reference our legendary math teacher,...

I am so sorry for your loss. I went to high school with Melinda but didn´t know her well. Based on this obituary it is clear I missed out on knowing an amazing person. The obituary was beautifully and movingly written. Thank you.

Don, Sally and family, So very sorry for your loss.

My sincere condolences to Don and Sally. I have so many fond memories of Melinda, and will never forget how passionately (and rapidly!) she spoke about all the people, causes, and things that mattered most to her. Her unreserved and deep love for Don and Sally was a joy to behold. Melinda was something of a role model to me when I was a new mom and we both worked at Bell Labs, and she was beyond supportive - a life saver, really - when she offered Sally´s services as a babysitter one summer...
