She was a light onto the world who touched everyone she met. We will never stop missing you. This kind of thing is why we love working for WU. Thanks

I had the honor to work with Melinda at UMSL. More importantly I had the privilege to call her a friend. I wanted to say thank you to WashU for honoring my friend.

I was shocked to hear that she passed. Melinda was such a wonderful person, always thoughtful and smiling. Even as a student she was a role model, making everyone around her comfortable. My deepest condolences go out to Dan, Ed and Ann and her family, and to all who were lucky enough to have called her friend.

Here's the thing about Melinda, She had a unique gift to almost instantaneously become your friend. Her easy smile, gentle laugh and friendly demeanor gave her an approachable countenance unlike anyone else I've ever met. You could walk into a room of 1000 people nervous and anxious and Melinda had away to make you feel at ease. I don't know if she ever realized her unique gift that way. The world lost a friend last week, and most world didn't even know it.
