I reconnected with Melissa (aka Mickey) running into her at Los Gatos and trying to figure out where we knew each other... It turned out we had gone to school together in St Louis at Villa for me up through 2nd grade... Crazy that we recognize each other in Carl's Jr. While my boys were in the play structure. We connected immediately and had so much common history that it was a blast. Then found out we both belonged to Courtside and our children were/had attended Bellarmine. We saw each other...

I met Melissa when she first moved to Los Gatos from L.A.- at Courtside Club when our kids were so young. She saw I was reading and approached me to talk books. This first meeting led to our founding our book club in Los Gatos, which was full of brilliant moms. She was brilliant, funny and compassionate, even while fighting this terrible cancer. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

I met Melissa at Courtside, as we had to play against her and her partner , she stood out, such a kind, down to earth person and we had a fun, competitive match. Sorry for this sad time. Carrie Yasukawa.
