Not sure what to say?

Dr. Burton was my favorite professor at J Sargeant Reynolds. I was looking into contacting him today when I discovered his passing. His legacy will continue through his students and family. He will be deeply missed

My prayers go out to the family of Dr. Burton. I took several classes that Dr. Burton taught at J Sarge in 1978 and 1979. I was part of a group he took to Europe in August 1978. It was an awesome trip. I was an older student than most because I served in the Army before attending college. Dr. Burton was a friend that I learned so much from and still use it today. May God Bless, Robin Rochelle

I am blessed to have learned from Dr. Burton and also been mentored by him while I attended J. Sargeant Reynolds. I took two accounting courses with him, and he was one of my faculty mentors for Phi Beta Lambda. His legacy lives on through the great many lives he touched. My condolences to the family of Dr. Burton.

I remember Dr. Burton as a long time customer at Bon Air Post Office. He was such a cheerful and kind man. Always pleasant and well mannered. My condolences to his family.

I was shocked and saddened to see this post Mel has been a part of my life since I was a teenager. I had lost touch when we moved to TN but cannot help but remember all of our bell choir experiences at Christmas ! I am so sad I didn´t get to say goodbye. I will cherish every memory I have with him

He was my absolute favorite teacher at J. Sargeant Reynolds. Also took a group of us to NYCity twice for an informative and fun trip. He was the best! Condolences to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

So sorry for your loss. I´ve been a neighbor for 17 years.... We will miss him.

So sorry for your loss. I fondly remember him as our enthusiastic organist and director of the Westminster Choir at Overbrook Presbyterian Church in the 1970s. He was a great mentor and friend who touched many lives through church music. Prayers of comfort to his family members.

I remember Dr. Burton from many years ago, leading the handbell choir at River Road Methodist Church. I was just a kid, but I still remember him as energetic, encouraging, and so patient. Heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.
