Read MoreIt is really hard to say to goodbye to a friend. Even though we had lost touch. I can still remember all of those trips to Charlotte Memorial in the ambulance with you and Hank. You pulling into a visitors parking lot instead of the ER and we had to pay 50 cent to get out of the lot.. gosh that was fun.

I would like to extend my condolences to you all and let you know I am praying for you and for Michael. I was Michael's cardiologist and friend until I left Concord in 2001. We kept in touch after I left but had no idea he was so ill. Please express my sadness to your children and tell them it was an honor to know him and be a part of his life.

We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Mike was a great guy and we were honored to have known him. My husband and I both worked at Cabarrus EMS with Mike and he was often a source of both great friendship as well as great laughter.
