I just read the story of your son on a website and it literally stopped me in my tracks. I had a magnificent son, Evan, who died from seizure complications, at the age of 9 1/2. While he was developmentally challenged and would most likely have never had a "normal" life, he did not have autism. He was, like Michael, a loving and incredibly beautiful child.
