I just heard... When Mike was 16 he was crew on my car. He was quiet, reliable and dedicated. He was with us when we won Port Royal on Labor Day.
I was so proud of him when he was the winning crew chief of the Knoxville Nationals. He'll always be respected and remembered as a Champion.

Coolie.....you had lived the rest of your days with us for the past 3 years. It was difficult for us to bear witness to your transformation from being a healthy working man to becoming ill and keeping to yourself. I know that your mother wanted you home to visit or to live back in PA. I wish that you would have. I know that all of your racing family in the World of Outlaws are saddened of your passing. They had reached out to you every time that they were in Brownsburg, IN.

Although i had worked with Mike during his best years as a sprint car mechanic i really didn't know him but just the same i am sadden from his passing and for his family and friends.
