LAYLA ROCK

I will always remember how Coach Mike inspired all of us who ran CYO track. He touched the lives of many. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Mike cared about people, and kids. He had great patience, enthusiasm, and respect for everyone. He was modest, hard-working, and he loved helping young athletes get the best out of themselves. He was a binder of diverse people and worked hard to make order out of chaos--he knew that's how teaching energetic kids worked out. He was a lot of fun to be around, and inspiring in being completely devoted to his family. Many, many people will miss him greatly.

Sally, Holly, & Kurtis,
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Mike was a very special person. He will be greatly missed.

Chris has wonderful memories of Mike's warm and attentive coaching at CYO. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. We are blessed to have known Mike.

Mike, we can't express how much we'll miss you. Holly, Kurtis and Sally, our thoughts are with you in this difficult time. He was truly special and touched our lives in so many ways. David & Nicole

The Hastings-Smith family is truly saddened by the news of Mike's passing. There are not enough words to describe mike's spirit and lust for life. He has touched many and he will be missed.
