Andrews Mortuary and Crematory - Market Street Chapel - Wilmington Obituary

Michael (Mike) June Hall left this earth in the presence of his loved ones to be with his Lord and Savior Monday morning, November 3rd 2015, at the age of 50.

Mike was born in Fayetteville North Carolina on October 10th 1965. After graduating Hoggard High School in 1983 Dino De Laurentiis brought a film called Fire Starter to Wilmington. A friend had been hired and Mike wanted to be a part of this production. His friend Wes Perry tried to get him a job but the production was fully crewed. So every morning Mike stood at the front gate with his tool belt on his shoulder waiting for the boss to drive thru. Jim Brinson got so tired of seeing this kid standing at the front gate every morning wanting to know if there was a position available yet. Jim asked Mike, "Can you push a broom?? ?Yes sir I can?. So he began sweeping the floors in 1983 and for the next 32 years and over 200 productions later he had climbed his way to Construction Coordinator and formed his own company, Mycall Inc.

Mike was ambitious, determined, and driven. He was a trusting friend, a giving stranger, a loyal husband, and a fiercely compassionate father. He was high energy, full force, and a make it happen kind of man. Mike beamed with a true genuine life-loving charisma everyone aspired to. His coworkers were his friends, his friends were his family, and his family was his life. His philosophy was, "you' re only as good as the crew that backs you." To all of his brothers and sisters he would thank you again for always having his back and a job well done. This world lost a good man on November 3rd who will truly be missed.

Mike was preceded in death by his Father Robert Lennon Hall, and he is survived by his Grandmother: Lucille Dean, Mother: Emma Ann Dean, Brothers: Terry Hall, Wayne Hall, and Chris Smith, Wife: Jodie Hall, Son: Michael Elijah Hall, Daughter: Amber June Hall, Son-in-law: Eric Coble, Granddaughter: Alex Coble, his unborn grandchild due in April, and many nieces, nephews and family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice in the memory of Michael J Hall. Memorial Service will be held Saturday November 7, 2015 at Scotts Hill Baptist Church located at 185 Scotts Hill Loop Rd. Wilmington, NC 28411 at 1:00 pm.

Not sure what to say?

I wish we had more time with you my dearest friend

Your light will never go out and the memory of you will flicker brightly forever. We miss you so bad Mike. And we love you forever

I knew Michael when he was in high school & we were next door neighbors. I also worked with mikes mother @ the cable company, so we spent a lot of time together just hanging out. Mike had a great sense of humor& will be missed by all who knew him. A great friend. Sarah Styers

You will be missed forever, but, also, remembered forever.
Loving you Always.
Joyce Pearson

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mike's family at this difficult time. He was a good man and he will be very missed by so many people.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mike's family and the NC film family. I always remember Mike coming into the art department and joking with me about ACC basketball but still having the class to give me a poster when Dean Smith retired.
Mike was similarly admired and respected. He made lasting contributions to crews and the community. He will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with each of Mike's family during this difficult time. May God wrap his loving arms around each of you and give you comfort and peace.
In Christ,

Rest Easy Mike. We were Jr. High School friends having operated the school store for Ms. Whitfield back then. Our paths crossed recently and we laughed about those "old days". He was a leader back then as I understand he was in his career. May God give peace to his family. May your memories hold you until you meet again soon. Peace & Blessings!
