Andrews Mortuary and Crematory - Market Street Chapel - Wilmington Obituary

Michael Phillip Hardee, age 47, of Hampstead, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday November 2, 2015.

Michael was born May 20, 1968 in Wilmington, NC, the son of Phil and Marie Hardee of Hampstead, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Wendy Fletcher Hardee, and his two children, Andrew Michael Hardee (19) and Ashley Elizabeth Hardee (14) all of Hampstead, NC; sisters, Karen Hardee Warren and husband Joey, and Elizabeth Hardee Howland; niece, Allyson Warren and nephews, Joel Warren and Caleb Howland.

He owned Michael?s Auto Sales since 1988 and was a lifelong member of the Hampstead community. He was also a member of Barlow Vista Baptist Church. Michael and his dad were avid drag racers. They were an inseparable team with multiple national event wins, including the 1993 US Nationals in Indianapolis, IN.

Michael was a true family man who enjoyed spending time with his children watching them play sports, eating peanut M&M?s and drinking Diet Mountain Dew while quoting their favorite movies. Quiet at times, he was very easy-going and a supportive friend to so many. He would do anything for his family and friends, never expecting anything in return. Truly a gift to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at Barlow Vista Baptist Church at 2pm officiated by Dr. William Gutherie and Rev. Danny Justice. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Immediately following, family will receive friends in the church annex.

Memorials can be made to Team Racers for Christ; Memo: Region 2 Michael Hardee; 1205 East Baseline Road, Suite 101 Tempe, Arizona 85283 or Barlow Vista Baptist Church.

I was in complete disbelief when I heard of Michael's passing, I had known him for 20 years as he had purchased auto dealer supplies from me, I have met thousands of people through my job and have to say that Michael was one of the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing ! I will miss the 15 to 30 minute conversation that I had with him every other Tuesday around 11:00 am ! But most of all I will miss my friend Michael ! My heart goes out to his wife, son, daughter, mother,...

Dear Phil & Marie, We never had the opportunity to meet Michael....however we did have the opportunity to work in your home.....shortly after meeting you both....it was easy to see you were nice people with warm hearts. While working in your home....we noticed a display of pictures of your children and their families....it was displayed with pride and love. Pictures say a thousand words....it was clear to see from their smiles that the warm hearts had tricked down. We...
