Mike, It will soon be a year since we lost your smiling face. I miss you and your wise cracks about Elvis.

To Mike's Family,
He was always a gentleman to me, as he spoke to me honestly and treated me fairly. I learned from our conversations and always thought of him with the most respect. I am sorry to hear of his passing as I have thought of him recently and wondered how he was doing. We were competitors in business, and a friend in business.
I will always consider him a mentor, and I wish you and the family business success.

knowing mike was a pleasure that will stay with me through the rest of my life -- seeing him take the business i started and building on it successfully for several years will be a fond memory in my heart -- at this time of loss and sadness - know that you all are in our prayers....

We sat in front of Mike at the UK games in Commonwealth Stadium the last few years. We were always impressed with his knowledge of the game. We were there this year when he attended his last game and he told us that he only had a short time to live, but he knew God had a plan for him and he just wanted to attend a game one more time. We were impressed by Mike's courage and his faith. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family, and we will miss our "football expert" at UK games.

Edna and Dewey are very proud of you and the Father you became such a wonderful role model for everyone who had the pleasure of having you touch their lives in such a special way

We have been out of town and returned home after the services for Mike. We are so sorry to have missed seeing you during this time. Please know how much we loved and respected Mike for his courageous and inspiring faith as he has been on this difficult journey. Our Friday night encounters at Rafferty's and other places were always such a testimony to his character! We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers. May God provide an abiding and comforting peace now...

Dear Elaine and family,

Mike Hellard was a wonderful Christian man and a good son to his Mother Edna. Jeff and I enjoyed the time we spent with you and Mike at the Hackers country club party last December. Mike was so funny and always supportive. As in Timothy, Mike Hellard, "fought a good fight".

Your dad meant so very much to me, and this loss will leave a huge void for many, many people!

Since the day I first met Mike I felt like we had been friends for a lifetime because of his smiling face and gentle kindness.

I will certainly miss his joking abuse and wonderful smile each time I enter the door of the shop.
