Not sure what to say?

Lori:

I just found out about Mike's passing last night. I had not spoken to him in a few years (since Judge Tom G. Davis' death), did not have his number, and went to look him up on Google. I am so sorry to hear the news. Mike and I clerked together for Judge Davis. Mike was the Briefing Clerk and I was the Research Attorney. I met you during that period, around the time the two of you got engaged, and he spoke of you often. Mike was a great friend, colleague, and lawyer. Everyone at...

To Lori and the Hutson family,

I just heard today from my sister Margaret Hutson of a gathering for Mike at the Stony Creek Church. I am Mike's cousin twice removed - our grandfathers were brothers. Mike was always generous of his time and always included me on his trips to South Carolina with his Dad. We used to see each other every other year but seemed to lose touch after his Dad passed away. I moved to Denver in 2009 and kept promising myself that I would visit El Paso and talk...

When Mike was in college he drove a little BMW and worked as a "runner" for Ruth Kern and Stanley Rosen. Later when Ruth's vision began to fail her Mike would help her around the downtown area on her various legal appointments in addition to his other work for her firm. It seems that service was part of his nature even then. (Just to clarify, the BMW was an old smoker with faded paint).

I think of Mike so much and how much it hurts to lose someone so dear. For you his loved one's, it is such a long road of grief and as hard as it is; one day those memories that hurt so much now will bring you tender, lovely, joyful memories. The tears will become smiles.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I am so grateful to have known such an amazing man. He exuded kindness and wisdom.

With a heavy heart I leave these thoughts.
with much love your friend,
Bob Carter

Eric and Lori,
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

For the 30 years I have known him, he was always a great lawyer and a fine gentleman. We will all miss his kind manner and quiet, thorough approach to the practice of law. Please accept my condolences and those of my wife Cheryl.

Lori,

I was so sorry to learn today of your loss of Michael. Mike and I started practicing law together 30 years ago, and from the outset I knew that he adored you. Mike was not just a fine man, but a gentleman, and a terrific lawyer, who will be sorely missed in our community. We all join you in mourning Mike, and Kathleen and I extend to you and your family our deepest condolences.

Mike was an excellent lawyer and a kind and compassionate person. I will miss seeing his kind smile. I am so very sorry to hear of his passing. Wishing his family strength and peace.
