Michael D. "Mike" McCoy passed away May 24, 2014 after a long illness.
Mike was born July 2, 1958 in Salem to John D. and Lenora Maxine McCoy (Bray). He attended school in Salem and graduated from Western Oregon University. He worked for Bonneville Power Administration for many years and enjoyed history, reading, computers and traveling.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, John and brothers, Tim and Johnny. He is survived by his mother Maxine of Salem; sisters Judy Mullins of Eugene and Patricia (Ron) Kelley of Albany; sister-in-law Diana McCoy of Salem as well as several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.

Can anybody please tell me where his final resting place is? My cousin Terri Ruggles was a dear friend of Mikes and she wants to pay her respects as she just found out today what happened. I would appreciate any help. My heart & prayers go out to all of you in this difficult time....

Mike was always a font of knowledge and skills. I knew him only as an affable and friendly colleague willing to go the extra mile when it was needed.

Mike and I attended a DEC conference in the mid 90's in LA. Mike had never been to Disneyland and DEC had rented the park out for the evening. We proceded to ride nearly every ride (even some of the kiddy rides) and rode Space Mountain at least five times in a row because he liked it so much. Mike was a good friend, a fun loving and really smart guy. He will be missed and I thank him for those memories.

I remember hiring Mike to work at BPA on the first server team beginning on Jan 1, 1992. It was a pleasure working with him for the past 22 years. I really sad that he lost this battle. He was well-liked and will be remembered.
