The McGuire / Fogarty Gym

James D. Fogarty of Omaha here with a message for the brothers of Dr. Michael McGuire. First, my wife Colleen is a Wisner NE McGill and thus related to many McGuires. Second, we lived for five years at 307 South 50th Street, Omaha, where Dr. Louis McGuire had built a gymnasium under the backyard. Our children loved playing there as I assume McGuire children did. Our best to surviving family members. I don't know any of you, but we definitely have a connection. I can be reached at...

My Father

In life when your born, there should be a man in your world, that you should look up to and idolize and admire. It should be a Father. My Father, Dr Michael D McGuire was that man. He was born into a richly cultured family during the Great Depression and rose up to be one of the most prolific psychiatrists of his time, in the field of adopted adolescent psychiatry. He practiced in many hospitals across the country. Always patient, kind, taking time, making sure patients were...

Have always admired this McGuire family and all their achievements.....

McGuire, was Dr. McGuire's first cousin & lived with their family part of the time he went to Creighton's law school. He spoke very fondly of those days. We are fortunate to be part of a large, wonderful, witty, loving & very Irish family. Dr. McGuire sounds like a cousin I wish I had known. My heart goes out to the family who will miss him & I...

My prayers are with Mary and her family during this difficult time. Sending you all of my love. -LPL

He was unique among the unique, extraordinary in so many ways, and a spirit who impacted my soul deeply. He was a man who not just shared a common family history with me, but allowed me to see, through him, the special gifts that the many generations of my family have fostered and passed to their heirs.
There are few people in the world I would have rather had a conversation with – or a hug from. He would take delight in discussing any subject with those he loved – yet, all the while,...
