Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Mike's passing. He was truly a kind and honorable man. May he rest in peace and may God bless and keep him and his family always.

The Payne's and my family lived in the same Spotsylvania County neighborhood, and Michael & Pam's Aunt Ruby was oftentimes a commuter companion with my Grandfather, Rudolph Jones, from D.C. to Fredericksburg. Being younger than the then teens, Micheal, Pam, and my brother, Randall [Knight], I still think about this one time when we were together at Granddad's house, affectionally called 'The Old Place', sitting in the kitchen joking, laughing, and just being Todd's Tavern neighbors although I...

I knew Mike from work at NIH as a colleague for his financial and audit support. Mike was good at his job, but what made him special was his comfortable and friendly way about himself. He was a wonderful person and I am sad to hear of his passing. Whatever his next journey may be, I am sure he was ready for it. My condolences to his family and loved ones. Sincerely, Ed Wilgus

My deepest condolences Frank, Jason and Caroline. Thinking of you and your family as you celebrate the life of your dad. I am so sorry for your loss. Maria Elena

Mike was my cousin. He was one of the sweetest, kindest, gentlest souls I have ever known. He was always upbeat with a quick and genuine smile. He always found the positive in every situation. I always looked up to Mike and admired him as someone to aspire to. RIP dear cousin.

Single Memorial Tree

I worked with Mike at the NIH for many years. He always impressed with his friendliness, kindness and professional knowledge. He was always helpful and never confrontational. He was an ideal colleague and workmate. I ran into him at Dulles after his retirement and his helpfulness and charm continued to shine. Mike was the consummate "good guy." He will be missed and my heart goes out to Merle and his children. Gone too soon.
