I am shocked and saddened to learn of Dr. Perlins passing. Knowing him only from presentation he gave which I attended (and learned much from!) he always made time to chat afterwards. Subsequently, he became my "go-to" resouce when I needed a neutral yet expert eye on a matter. He is missed.

I would like to extend my condolences to Dr. Perlin's family. Michael was my faculty advisor and professor in the MPH program at SCSU. He had an open door policy to students that allowed for easy conversation and advising. He had a unique engaging manner in the classroom. I enjoyed an easy rapport with Michael, and his smile exhibited a warmth that was genuine and heartfelt.
