Michael Perlow

Oh Sandra and family, I am just now - and very belatedly- learning of Michael´s passing. The world has lost a wonderful man. He generously shared his knowledge with me over so many years. It´s hard to imagine a world without him. I am so sorry for this great loss.

I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Perlow through my father, Mel Mongerson. One summer while working with my father, Mr. Perlow asked me to attend lunches for public companies. I recall one lunch where the company reps actually brought the filters they manufactured. The length of one went around the room! (A photograph would have been better!) During the same meeting, one person fell asleep. (I cannot image why.) Afterward, I updated Mr. Perlow by describing the above. His reply, "Hmm..the...

Michael was very generous and thoughtful. He always wanted to know my opinion even though he had 50+ years more experience than I did. I know his skill as an investor, friend, and mentor will impact me the rest of my life. I am grateful for getting to know him.

We will remember Michael Perlow as a great Chicago original, an unselfish, kind and utterly unpretentious man. An xample of his simple approach to life: He rode the bus to work every day even in his advanced years. He was the son of a prestigious vascular surgeon at the Michael Reese Hospital; Michael would proudly show his father's painting which was lovingly preserved in his home. Michael was a dear friend for over 60 years. I always consulted him Regarding business, and invited him to our rodeos, parties, & get together. He was the BEST. !!!!
