Michael Rodgers Obituary

Houston resident, Michael Rodgers, died Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his home in Houston. He was years 69 years of age. Michael was born in 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Burleson High School in 1967. He attended East Texas State University and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1972. He was a fifth generation native Texan. His ancestors migrated to Texas in 1853 from Carroll County, Georgia.
In 1970 Michael married Donna Jean Arenburg. He spent most of his career as a Professional Landman, working as an independent, for Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), Vastar Resources, Inc., and retiring from BP America Production Company in 2014. He also worked as a pianist, organist, and church music director. He was a former member of the American Association of Professional Landmen. Michael enjoyed music, reading, genealogy, and riding his motorcycle.
Michael is survived by his wife, Donna Rodgers, daughters Michelle Reamer and Kristina Rodgers, son-in-law, John Mark Reamer and grandchildren Heteya Kari Rodgers-Larsen, Emma Chenoa Rodgers-Langridge and Chloe Jeanette Reamer.
A memorial service will be held at St. Cuthbert's Episcopal Church, Saturday, July 27th, at 11:00 am. Instead of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Cuthbert's Episcopal Church discretionary fund by visiting stcuthbert.org/giving. Burial of ashes will be in the Vittitoe Cemetery on Andy Thomas Lane south of Kentucky Town, near Whitewright, in Grayson County, Texas.

Mike was as good of friend as I've ever had.
I'll miss him a lot , although most of our visits were
By text or phone. He was well liked by any of my friends that knew him. He would always try to help almost anyone in any way that he could. I appreciate the friendship we had. Love you and the times we spent together!
