Not sure what to say?

I was stunned when I heard of Mike's passing! I have worked with him at Panera for a while and loved seeing him in the mornings. Each day I went in my mission was to put a smile on his face, he had a nice smile and laugh to go with it. I will miss my friend dearly. So sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Take comfort in the thought that he is in a better place now and will be watching down from above.

I am truly stunned. This does not seem real. I had learned a lot from you during my 17+ years at Servatii Pastry shop. It was good working with you at Panera too. I will miss you. My heart goes out to all of your loved ones. May you be at peace.

I am Mike's fellow baker at the Florence, KY Panera Bread cafe. Since we took turns baking for the cafe I rarely ever saw Mike. In the eight months I've worked in that cafe I saw him three times, the last time being when we worked together for the Thanksgiving bake. In light of his illness I admired how Mike went about his everyday business, taking each day one at a time. I've thought of Mike on and off, saying a prayer or two, since I first met him, and I know that he's in a better place.
