Michael Robert Shutters of Fox Point, Wisconsin passed away September 30, 2016 at the age of 73. Mike was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on December 6, 1942 to Florence Lucille “Lucy” Shutters (née Whalen) and Cecil Wendell Shutters and raised in Greensburg, Indiana. Resided previously in Indianapolis, Jacksonville, and Orlando, Florida. Preceded in death by brothers Richard, Thomas and Patrick Shutters. Mike is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Reiner Shutters; three sons, Michael V. of Donalsonville, Georgia, Gregory and Brian of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, Kimberly Glickstein of Jacksonville, Florida and three grandchildren Andrew Glickstein, Alec and Maddie Shutters. Also survived by brothers Phil (Janet), Terry (Harriet), Jerry (Barbara) and Kevin; and sisters Linda Williams, Annette Shutters (Dennis Sweat), and sister-in-law Ruth Shutters. Further survived by his Aunt Emy Lou, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mike served in the US Air Force from 1960-1964 as a long range radar operator above the arctic circle. His first job after the military was at Household Finance Corporation. He was recruited by Indiana National Bank which launched a 41-year career in banking and in the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) software and services industry. At Indiana National Bank, Mike designed and implemented the first ATM network in the state of Indiana. While working two jobs he went to night school and graduated in 1975 from the University of Indianapolis with a degree in Finance. Throughout the following years Mike held sales management and product management positions at Barnett Computing Company, A.O. Smith Data Systems, Omron Financial Systems, Deluxe Data Systems, eFunds, Elan Financial Services, and Fiserv Corporation. When at Omron, he sold and managed the installation of the first Omron ATMs and cash dispensers in the United States. He received distinguished sales awards and was regional manager of the year. He was most inspired when starting a new venture from the ground up – he created Electronic Switch Systems Inc. in Florida and his proudest career accomplishment was as founder and president of US Processing, Inc. (USPI), a startup EFT processor where he hired many capable people who are still friends today. Mike was respected as a leader, a mentor and for his loyalty to his coworkers and employees. He was very smart, had a great sense of humor, and an entrepreneurial spirit that he brought to each new challenge.
His biggest challenge this past year was his health which included kidney failure, dialysis and multiple complications and hospitalizations. But he remained steadfast and optimistic throughout these struggles along with his family’s love, care and support.
Thank you to the many doctors, nurses and staff that cared for Mike at Aurora Heath Care, Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee, and special thanks to Sharon at DaVita Mill Street in Cedarburg.
Mass of Christian Burial at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, 7600 N. Port Washington Road, Fox Point, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 8th at 12 PM with visitation preceding in church narthex at 10 AM.

I am very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was a man of great integrity and it was always a pleasure working with him at Deluxe and USPI. Mike was always someone we at TYME could count on to give us an honest assessment of a given situation or business dealing. Mike was always focused on doing the right thing even if it wasn't always in his best interest or that of his employer. He was respected by all that worked for him and those that worked with him.
