Michael Sugar Obituary

FRANKFORD - Michael A. Sugar, 61, of Frankford Township, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon Township.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Michael lived in Stillwater and Ogdensburg before moving to the Culver Lake section Frankford Township five years ago. He worked in construction with Union Local 472 in Hackettstown.
A life member of the Stillwater Fire Department, Michael was a former captain of the Stillwater Fire Police, a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, a member of the Newton Moose Lodge, and a member of The Wanderers Car Club.
The son of the late Julius Sugar, Michael is survived by his wife, Sheila Clark Sugar; his daughters, Carolyn Sugar, of Vernon and Crystal Sugar, of Frankford Township; his mother, Marcelina Sugar, of Stillwater Township; his brother, Joseph Sugar and wife, Toni, of Stillwater Township; his sister, Betty Ann Sugaste and husband, Jim, of West Orange; his brother, Anthony Sugar and wife, Tina, of Stillwater Township; as well as his nieces and nephews, Michelle, Nicole, Anthony, Maria, Steven and Nicholas. He is also survived by his buddy and best friend, Chance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Swartswood. Interment will follow in Stillwater Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m., at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, with firemen's services at 8 p.m., also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stillwater Fire Department, 929 Stillwater Road, Newton, NJ 07860 or Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860. Online condolences may be offered at www.smithmccrackenfuneralhome.com.
