Michael M. SWEENEY

Age 81 of Saint Paul, MN Passed away peacefully February 3, 2021 Preceded in death by parents Edna and Francis; parents in-law, Dorothy and Robert Fischbach; sisters, Peggy, Joan, Leslie; brothers, Joe and Bill and his best buddy John. Survived by wife of 57 years Darlene; children, Michael (Michele Erwin) and Kelly (Bill Brando); grandchildren, Jackson, Samuel, William and Anna. Siblings, Jim, Mary Cleary (Jim), Tom (Bonnie), Kathy Colberg (Don) and Donna Holman (Jim). Mike was a Cretin H.S. graduate Class of 1957 and a retired Fleet Supervisor with a 45-year career at Superior Dairy Fresh/Land O'Lakes. He was a proud 56-year veteran of the International Association of Machinist & Aerospace Workers Local No. 737, and a two term President of the Minnesota Trucking Association Maintenance Council. With a passion to fix anything, Mike enjoyed his 1914 Model T & 1929 Model A, and all the friends he met along the way including the Backroad Boys and belonging to the Twin Cities Model A Ford Club for many years. We know as Mike passed through, he stopped, he listened, then showed St. Peter how to fix the squeak on the pearly gates. Mike's favorite place on this earth was Kona, Hawaii, frequently playing rounds of golf, getting his feet wet with scuba, and sippin' an ice-cold glass of POG on the Lanai. Aloha Dad!
