Barbara Jeanne Carlson

Barbara "Barb" (Tingstad) Carlson: Our beloved wife, sister, mother, aunt, and Nannie passed into the arms of our Lord on February 27, 2026. We will forever remember her love of her family and friends, her humor and kindness, her ever-lasting love and support of the US Military and her love of beauty in all creation especially in her favorite, hummingbirds.

Barb was born in Virginia, Minnesota on March 14, 1947 to her loving parents, Gordon Eugene and Anna Mae (Jula) Tingstad. They moved to St. Paul and she graduated from Johnson High School in 1965. She was active in Ski Club, Skating Club, German Club, Pep Club, Marching Unit, and as a Red Cross Representative. Barb married Robert "Bob" Carlson on November 30, 1968. They had three children and lived as long-time residents of White Bear Lake, MN before moving to Oakdale, MN to be caretakers of the Oakdale Gun Club, then onto Cottage Grove, MN. Barb worked at 3M for 24 years and also worked at White Bear Jewelers, Hoff Jewelers, and the Cathedral of St. Paul.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and parents.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Carlson, her brother, David (Dianne) Tingstad, uncle James Jula, her children Todd (Michelle) Carlson of White Bear Lake, Scott (Jennifer) Carlson of Oak Grove, and Michelle Carlson of Cottage Grove, her grandchildren Ali (Sol) Coton of England, Amber (Deven) King of Woodbury, Chase (Kelsey) Carlson of St. Paul, Cade Carlson of Oak Grove, Kylee McFall of Temecula, California, Cyloh Carlson of Oak Grove, Lamya Carlson, Gavriella DuPree, Lilly Carlson, Pria Carlson, Brandon Carlson, Aubrielle Carlson, and her great-grandson Jiraiya King. And her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Honsa Family Funeral Home, 2460 County Road E East, White Bear Lake, MN 55110 with a Celebration of Life service immediately afterwards at 11:00 AM.

Barb requested that there is NO black attire and family and friends wear some variation of the color PINK if possible. A memorial blood drive will be held at a later date in honor of Barb at a location to yet be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Memorial Blood Centers (mbc.org), or in participation of the blood drive to be announced at a later date, Arthritis Foundation of Minnesota (arthritis.org/minnesota), or American Heart Association (Heart.org).
