Robert Lee Carlson, 87, of Rockford, passed away at his son’s home with loving family by his side.
Robert was born in Rockford, IL on September 28, 1938, the son of Algot and Elsie (Johnson) Carlson. He began working as a carpenter from the age of 15 and took great pride in continuing his lifelong career for many years. He was also a member of the Rockford Carpenter’s Local Union 792. Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and a dedicated hardworking man.
He married Judy L. Adolphson on May 27, 1961, at Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford. Judy passed away on November 19, 2006. Robert enjoyed spending time with family at their property in Northern Wisconsin in the Minocqua area.
Those left to honor Robert’s memory include his children, Connie (Marty) Homes and Ronnie Carlson; grandchildren, Josh Shuga, Jordan (Andrea) Shuga, McKinzie Holmes and Guidance Johnson; great-granddaughter, Paislee Shuga. Robert is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Judy Carlson and 2 brothers, Larry and David Carlson.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of Robert’s Life will be planned for a future date.
