Michael is dead ... D-E-A-D, dead. He certainly hasn't passed. In fact, he hasn't passed since he hit Mike Jakacki for a 40-yard touchdown to beat Chaska in 1971. Michael is survived by his marvelous wife, Sara; two fabulous kids, Elizabeth (Sean) and John; a wonderful sister, Kathy Martin...

Not sure what to say?

I took a few lessons from Michael and spread his praises everywhere. He made golf FUN! Which, of course, as he seemed to understand - translated to a lot more than just golf. So sorry to his family and friends.

Michael was a fantastic golf teacher. Me and my neighbor took lessons from him last spring. He was such a charismatic / calm / instructor. He will be greatly missed. God Bless him.

He was the best golf teacher! He had good advice and made it fun. "Quit trying to hit the ball!" I will miss the Monday night golf lessons with him and all the ladies. He is irreplaceable. My condolences to the family.

Sara! I can´t believe this happened!I received a message that went into my Facebook spam. Please call me at 3038880625. Lorrie (Ketcham) Ham

We met Michael by chance about a week before his passing. We had been up for training and having supper at the Famous Dave´s. We seen this friendly man sitting alone and invited him over. We enjoyed great conversation with him. Small world, as he knew people from our hometown (2.5 hours away). Blessed be his memory, prayers to his loved ones. -Dasha & Joleen, Michael´s two new Nurse friends from SWMN.

Sara and family -- you are in my prayers this morning as I read this very sad news about Michael. He was my golf coach for the last several years at Brookview--took many lessons from him, but I've never laughed so hard and enjoyed a golf lesson so much as with your Michael! We shared golf stories, book titles to read and life observations every lesson. Through his expert guidance, I did manage to become a better golfer (helped my husband, too!). But really we became good friends. He was a...

I smiled reading this obituary and especially the first three lines. Beautiful. Never met him until today. Blessings to his family

Sarah, So sorry to hear about Michael. My life (and golf game) is richer for knowing Michael for the last few years. It was amazing how he could weave in a few life lessons along with a wonderful golf lesson. He will be so missed. It was wonderful to meet you as well and have him share you with us. Hugs and prayers to you and your family.
